Adelaide is a dead city during Christmas, no shops open cause all the guai los having turkey roast at home with their loved ones. Also, I can't believe I'm missing the biggest sale in Adelaide- The Boxing Day Sale cause I'm leaving the dead city that day itself! What a fail plan. So, I'll be packing and cleaning my room while Santa figuring out his way to go down the chimney, and others busy roasting for the family.

Sad to be me, I know right!

I knew it! Like the elderly sayings go 'you will end the year like how you started it' (something like that). Beginning of the year, I visited the doctor due to unknown allergy on my face, and same shit happened on me again. The only difference is I was sent to the hospital by an ambulance. Now you sense the seriousness? Lol, actually I don't think my condition is that bad, it's just my gp being over-reacted because of my immediate nasty reaction. Apparently I'm allergic to one kind of antibiotics, and 5 minutes after I consumed it, I had itchiness all over my body followed by black outs which freaks the hell out of me. I thought I'm going blind forever! Once, I'm admitted to the emergency department, I'm surrounded by more than 5 doctors, making me more gan jiong.

That's me chilling # like a boss. This picture is taken after all those injections, puking, nerve-wrecking moments. I think I had more than 10 injections the day itself. I got poke on both my arms for N times, my legs, and the doctor pity me and asked if I want it to be injected on my butt. Thank god I'm not a girl who'll faint once I see the needle, I'm totally cool with it. The allergy reaction is making me red as if I'm admitted because I passed out in a club. Besides that, the adrenaline injection gave me adrenaline rush, hence I was shaky for most of the time, like a dementia old woman.

I was advised to spend a night at the hospital for intense observation just in case second allergy reaction attacks. The first thing that runs in my mind is " OH SHIT! HOW AM I GONNA PAY FOR THE HOSPITAL BILL AND THE AMBULANCE RIDE...!" I might have to sell my kidney, where's the freaking department that I can sell my organs to?! I reluctantly agreed for my own good.

Waking up with dinner ready on the table. For one sec, I felt like rejecting all those food they provide, just in case they charge me like how hotel charge for a can of coke. You see, I'm not richhhhhh! But, I'm too hungry to think wisely. Somehow this reminded me of the food in the plane. After eating this, I can conclude that AIRPLANE FOOD TASTE LIKE HEAVEN! I only ate the green peas and mash potatoes, cause they served curry beef and a side serve of yucky salad. Notice the light blue container? That's my dessert - pudding, which I just ate a little cause it's too milky for my liking. Others guai lo in the same ward as me was like nom nom nom all the way, except me. Luckily I have Bui to cook me congee :D They serve yummy breakfast tho - orange juice, a bottle of milk, a toasted bread, and a cup of tea. LOL! Oh, and I like the fact that they have TV to keep me entertain since I couldn't sleep well for the night. I went to the toilet at least 10 times that night itself.

TRIMETHOPRIM, now tattoo that in your heart, brain, or even in your face! This is the damn culprit that got me into all this shit. This is the name I heard the most during my stay in the hospital. Nurses and doctors, reminded me trillions times that I should never ever in my life consume this pill anymore. I just consumed one of it, but it's strong enough to bring me down.

On a bright sight, Oversea Student Health Cover (OSHC) is going to pay for my hospital bill. Big relief. This lesson is like a big tight slap on my face that to remind me drink more water!

Currently packing for my four days trip to Melbourne again. The second trip of the year, this time is to attend my cousin sister's convocation, congratulations! Everyone in the family are heading towards Melbourne to celebrate and witness this meaningful ceremony, including my mummy. Will be seeing mummy in another 24 hours, thinking bout that give me butterflies in the stomach. Mummy ditched poor brother back in Malaysia, surviving on his own for 4 days, and yet that silly boy already finished his stash of food that are supposed to last for 4 days. Oh well, good luck bro. Anything please call 1300 88 2525. It's much more effective that complaining to me, haha.

Bus Service Blues

The teething problems of buses delays, buses not turning up on time has continued to frustrate me. It is unacceptable these bugs have not been ironed out, especially for the 190 buses via Unley Road.. This is the second time of the month that I've been waited for more than 30 minutes and it hasn't turned up until 4.50pm which leave me no choice but to take cab to work or else I'm gonna be super late. Most of my pay for the week goes to cover back the cab fare. How ridiculous is this? I don't think is right as why have time on timetable if it can't be met. Adelaide metro has no right in increasing the bus fare with this kind of shameful service.

Thanks for making my day so miserable. Now eff you!

To top up my emo day. I have a super creepy boss that spy on us 24 hours through CCTV! Okay, I did exaggerate tad bit. Maybe he took toilet breaks, nap break or whatever. Today, my ex-colleague, Cameron came in to take away for dinner. He lie on the coach since there's no customer dine in yet. The very next second, the my boss called and said : Tell Cameron not to lie on the coach. You see what I see? Creepy man.

It's been a long and dreadful afternoon. I've been sitting lifelessly infront of the lappie since morning. When, things get bored, I webcamed my cousin who's equally bored. Both of us just starred at each other without talking, I'm enjoying every pores on her face, while she tried to work out how my nose moves when I eat milo cereal. What a life we have here.

Highlight of my boring day and also a quickie update to those who's concern about the spider and my safety: the spider is dead for good! Million thanks to the hero - Zhao Farn who saves the day. I screamed and jumped on to the bed when the spider dropped right from the ceiling onto the ground. Thank god, it's all well-settled now.

So, a tip for those who wanna kill a spider, please buy a spray, whatever spray will do the magic trick. Imma happy girl again.

I had a surprise on my ceiling last night when I turn on my light. I found a giant spider and I got a fright! Maybe the weather's too hot for the spider so it decided to chill in my room, above the air conditioner. Pft. I literally got freaked out and spent 30 minutes in the bathroom to chilll down, thinking of what to do next. Being stupid enough, I called friends who stayed in the city, whatsapp Sophia who's currently in US. What a noob, not like they can fly here to save me. Finally, I gave up and went to bed with the thought of: worst come to worst, I'll just die off silently, or if I'm lucky enough, perhaps I can be the next spidergirl.

Term break have officially begun! like four days ago, for everyone, but not for me. I've to hand up an assignment on Sunday night, and worked whole day on Monday. Three of my precious days just wasted like that.

Finally, holiday begins now! for me.

Sleeping in feels great! I'm fully charged now and I'm ready for some summer shopping, yo! Sad case much, sometimes I wonder why don't I like shopping like other girls do? Went window shopping in between my work break on Monday, all I did was crossing my arms and yawned in most of the shops, don't even bothered to flip through those clothes. However, I have few things in mind that I wanted to get so badly, hehe.Or should I say, I spotted a few awesome stuff when I'm yawning? If only, I'm born rich.

Waiting for 2am to roll around, so I can get my laundry done and hit the sack. Things have been seriously f*cked up for the past few days. Practical report, quiz and Japanese test, all cramped on the same week, so not cool aye. Have been camping at hub till 4am (almost) every day, and have been eating Hungry Jacks for dinner. Sad life right? I know. However, here comes the rainbow after the storms (or was it, sun after the storms?) Whatever, I can have a stressless term break next week! Can't wait for all this shiz to end.

What a 'dramatic' week for me, considering the fact that my cheapo pendrive gave out by the new learning hub got virus attack and needed to be formatted. My half-done assignment, gone down the drain. So I thought, I should have learnt my lesson. Oh well, looks like I didn't. This afternoon when I tried to open my file to get my assignment printed out, shiz happened again. That wasn't the latest version of my work! Nah, it's okay, I saved another copy in my desktop which I left at home. Due to the time constraint, I took cab back to lodge, and realized IT's NOT THERE either! poo-head! 18 bucks wasted on cab, and yet, my practical report wasn't there.

I'm glad that all this shiz ended, oh wait, one more on Sunday. Headed home right after handing up my assignment, and lied dead on bed. The next thing was, I woke up and puke. Thank god for the awesome cookie who stayed behind to take care of me. Home made Japanese curry and pork ribs for dinner as a celebration for me after this insane week, too bad I have no appetite at all after puking, His food would have tasted million times better if I'm in a better condition, feel so sorry for his efforts, but yet, truly appreciate that :)

On a not so relevant side note. I decided to give up the sims social! Such a tard! I placed my living room in 'Store' and the next thing is.. IT's GONE! pfft. I know it's a traumatic news for some of you, but hey, please blame the sims social for cheating me :P

Started of Saturday morning with a date to Marion by train. After two and a half year in Australia, finally Marion here I come! What a shame, boo! The one and only nice mall in Adelaide. At least, it's way better than what I've expected after Tea-tree Plaza. Of course, it's still nothing compare to Melbourne's Chadstone, but I should be really satisfied. Finally get to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which I'm supposed to watch it on my birthday. One month delayed, oh dear.

After movie, we rushed to Nicole's 20th birthday celebration at Yakumi, Glenelg. Most of us were really excited due to the high reviews of the restaurant until we looked at the menu. A minimum spend of $35 per head. As poor students, we are, we struggled in choosing our food wisely, which took us almost an hour to decide? Awkward turtles.

I hate that feeling when you get back from the holidays- you become lazy, almost like a Koala bear, want to eat at all hours of the day, just want to watch movies and chill out. Worse part of it is, this is not a holiday, more like a study break! Less than a month away from our exams this holiday is a semester planners wet dream. It almost seems that every year, the holidays become shorter, and study breaks lesser. I still remember my first year of uni, when the days seemed long, and the weeks longer. As for the waitress and waiters? awesome possum.Thanks for covering my mistakes and tolerating with my dumbness. It's just funny, when we tried to hide those food where we made mistakes in the order, pretend to be extremely busy when the boss walked in, make cups and cups of coffee just to make some awesome latte art etc.

Bout my coffee. Well, I don't have the talent, so yeahh. At least, I've been trying hard, go on you-tube and search for ' how to make nice latte' and all sorts of crap. See! I'm trying! hard. A great kick start for the Easter Break-Bruno Mars D.O Wops & Hooligans Concert! A big thank you to Serene who sold me the ticket. And yeah! first concert in my life. When I'm having my shift last night, Michael told me there's gonna be a tsunami in Adelaide tomorrow (which means today). Hang on there, don't panic first! The most ridiculous thing I ever heard of is one of his friend actually bought a ticket straight after the news and flee back to China. Speechless.

But then, I'm confused. Why do I not believe in that news. Why do I make a joke with that tsunami thing. Why do I not book a ticket/ prepare for the tsunami, instead here am I, blogging. Maybe I've never take 'death' seriously. Maybe I still strongly believe I'll die of old age (judging from my palm). I believe in happily ever after.

Seriously, if I'm going to die today, I have no idea what should I do. However, there's one thing I'm sure of right now. I must finish 'Pretty Little Liars' series and find out who murder Alison before tsunami hits me.

Where To Go During Earthquake?

TIPS FOR EARTHQUAKE SAFETY

1) Most everyone who simply 'ducks and covers' when building collapse are crushed to death. People who get under objects, like desks or cars, are crushed.

2) Cats, dogs and babies often naturally curl up in the fetal position. You should too in an earthquake. It is a natural safety/survival instinct. You can survive in a smaller void. Get next to an object, next to a sofa, next to a bed, next to a large bulky object that will compress slightly but leave a void next to it.

3) Wooden buildings are the safest type of construction to be in during an earthquake. Wood is flexible and moves with the force of the earthquake. If the wooden building does collapse, large survival voids are created. Also, the wooden building has less concentrated, crushing weight. Brick buildings will break into individual bricks. Bricks will cause many injuries but less squashed bodies than concrete slabs.

4) If you are in bed during the night and an earthquake occurs, simply roll off the bed. A safe void will exist around the bed. Hotels can achieve a much greater survival rate in earthquakes, simply by posting a sign on the back of the door of every room telling occupants to lie down on the floor, next to the bottom of the bed during an earthquake.

5) If an earthquake happens and you cannot easily escape by getting out the door or window, then lie down and curl up in the fetal position next to a sofa, or large chair.

6) Most everyone who gets under a doorway when buildings collapse is killed. How? If you stand under a doorway and the doorjamb falls forward or backward you will be crushed by the ceiling above. If the door jam falls sideways you will be cut in half by the doorway. In either case, you will be killed!

7) Never go to the stairs. The stairs have a different 'moment of frequency' (they swing separately from the main part of the building). The stairs and remainder of the building continuously bump into each other until structural failure of the stairs takes place. The people who get on stairs before they fail are chopped up by the stair treads - horribly mutilated. Even if the building doesn't collapse, stay away from the stairs. The stairs are a likely part of the building to be damaged. Even if the stairs are not collapsed by the earthquake, they may collapse later when overloaded by fleeing people. They should always be checked for safety, even when the rest of the building is not damaged.

8) Get near the outer walls of buildings or outside of them if possible - It is much better to be near the outside of the building rather than the interior. The farther inside you are from the outside perimeter of the building the greater the probability that your escape route will be blocked.

9) People inside of their vehicles are crushed when the road above falls in an earthquake and crushes their vehicles; which is exactly what happened with the slabs between the decks of the Nimitz Freeway. The victims of the San Francisco earthquake all stayed inside of their vehicles. They were all killed. They could have easily survived by getting out and sitting or lying next to their vehicles. Everyone killed would have survived if they had been able to get out of their cars and sit or lie next to them. All the crushed cars had voids 3 feet high next to them, except for the cars that had columns fall directly across them.

10) I discovered, while crawling inside of collapsed newspaper offices and other offices with a lot of paper, that paper does not compact. Large voids are found surrounding stacks of paper.

It made me feel so awkward cause they're thinking "whether I let you into my umbrella space or not..." or I hope someone will be as cool as Rihanna and sing "you can stand under my umbrella ella ella eh eh.." to me. That time, I'll be so grateful enough to do a jellyfish dance for her. Awkward swine to the max! I told myself, next time I'll be prepared! Or at least, be with someone who'll be prepared.

So checked weather forecast for the week, and yea, it'll be raining these few days. So yesterday, out I go, with my umbrella ella ella eh eh eh and my books which weight like 2 dictionaries. Carrying my umbrella in and out, and there's no sign of a single rain drop! Fine!

This morning, just as I stepped out of lodge, sizzling raindrops. So I ran back and get my umbrella. Once again, I stepped out, the rain stops. The story doesn't end there. I brought umbrella along just in case I turn into an awkward swine again. This time, I left it in the computer pool, and someone's greedy enough to stole it away from me!

So, yea the whole point of this post is about me losing my umbrella and feeling extremely pissed off at the rain god and the umbrella-stealer. The next time it rains, I'll be cool enough to walk under it.

A pretty awful start off for the day. Debilitating stomach pain woke me up around 5 in the morning, no joke. Struggling to put myself to sleep, but those pains and nightmares just wouldn't allow. Finally, when they decided to give me a break, it's already time for my 8am class. So, there goes my first skip of the year, I wasn't expecting it to be this fast. Once again, thank you Sophia for the help :)

Recharged soon enough to attend my next workshop. I've to drag myself out even though I'm still feeling dizzy cause tutor gonna divide us into groups for presentation, I have to grab a perfect spot. The class is so packed with people that 2 of the girls have to sit on the floor for the 2 hours workshop. Imagine giving presentations in front of this amount of people, I wanna drop anthropology immediately! I have a bunch of tute mates who can't stop contributing ideas, thoughts and bla bla bla. Even my tutor found it hard to interrupt in. The good thing of sitting right under your tutor's nose is you get to see a big sweat rolling down his bald head. Seriously, a drop of sweat. He must be feeling pretty tensed dealing with those people. Don't worry, I totally understand you.

As for the Japanese lecture today, sensei made the 'lucky' ones stand in front of the class so that the rest of the class can asked them some questions in Japanese. Sad to say, none of us volunteer, so sensei has to pick someone from the name list. The someone appears to be the unlucky me.

Without second thought, I asked " こどもが　いますか." Do you have any children?

" います " he said.

wow. I wasn't expecting that answer. There's a young papa in my class. A very immature young papa.

ps : Maybe I do have a weak/dumb/stupid/can't handle stress face that most of the people think I can't handle job and study at the same time. I can't promise but I'll definitely try my best to juggle both of them. Hakunamatata.

Obviously there's something's wrong with my digestive system. I've been feeling shitty these few days, in fact, this started since last year. I ate a sushi roll, yoghurt and a bowl of mee for the entire day. This may seem a lot for some of you, but this is just 1/3 of my normal proportion, and I had them all before 6pm. After 4 hours, I still feel bloated. My digestive system is seriously deteriorating. Does aging correlates with it too? Feel like throwing up, it might be bulimic symptoms. Don't worry, no matter how bad I feel, I wont force things out. Even if they're half way up my throat, I'll just suck it down. Jks. Peaceeeee.

Screw anthropology. No matter how many decades I spend on reading it, I still won't get it. Nights.

As I may/may not mention before, I found a part time job. Thanks to Jamie. This is not my first job but I'm as excited as a newbie. More to nervous actually. Since I'm a kid, I would be able to sleep through anything, sirens, alarms, ~~storms~~ , you named it. The day before my first day of work, I can't. Had butterflies in my stomach all day long.

Well, stepping into my third week, I'm getting the hang of everything. almost everything. Though kept making tiny weeny mistakes. Always learn from mistakes :)

Gaining lots of experience from this. Get to make drinks, communicate with people better, deal with angmos, angmos and more angmos, realise how troublesome they can be at times (if you serve the main first, they'll insist you to bring it back and bring the entree out), get to know how a restaurant actually runs, working with guys are actually better than with girls. Oh, and how to make the apron you're wearing way cooler and not like a maxi dress.

Being the only female today, was assigned to check out the female toilet. I ended up playing with the sanitary bin for few minutes. I know this sound so wrong. It detects hand, and automatically open gracefully. How cool is that!

Had my first coffee making lesson today, made four cups of different coffee : cappucino, espresso, latte, flat white. Kinda epic fail, and Hugh made me drink all. No way man! So all ended up in the sink, what a waste.

So here's the questions: How to make the best coffee without knowing how a good coffee should taste like?

Coffee art makes people happy. Hopefully I can do this one day.

Ps: People say money cant buy happiness, sometimes I think they are wrong.

Get to help out with parent's financial burden makes me feel good. Buy stuff without using their money, makes me feel less guilty.

Pss: this means no more nail polish, colourful fingernails scared people off. naww.

This year, my uni is generously giving out Ipads for those first years who are enrolled in Bachelor of Science. They should start of this policy last year! Good stuff just don't happen on me.

Well, I personally don't think this is a good idea.

1. Students are playing with it, instead of using it wisely for education purpose.

2. More facebook in the lecture hall.

3. More angry birds.

4. I can't get to sell off my textbooks! since they have electronic copy of that.

I want to have a smile like that! I've no idea what kind of smile was that, but it sounded so cool and I'm pretty sure I'll look awesome and seducive with it. Jks.

So far, classes are alright. John Dunn with his usual flat tone. Stats-no comment, hopefully it has nothing to do with maths or else I'll be dead meat. Anthropology, a pretty new subject for me to explore, but it really does reminds me of ENL. As for Japanese, still as hard as ever. Everybody look so tense in our first Jap lecture of the year. Freaked out when we heard 'pair work' and this will go along for at least another half a year.

Finally sold out my chem book, hopefully no returns. Still don't get why is it so hard to sell off my maths studies book (from college). It's been with me for 2 years, probably students nowadays are getting richer and richer. Wasted so much money on buying textbooks. Seriously why does textbooks have to be so freaking expensive? It's just insane, think of the poor, like me. Uni is a bloody vampire. First they ripped you off with the uni fees, then they murdered you slowly with the freaking expensive textbooks. Why do education has to be so costly?

A big thank you to the good Samaritan, Charlotte who gave us a free ride to the Fringe opening, cause it's raining and we've been waited for the bus to come for about 45 minutes? Pft. Alas, the parade was cancelled due to the rain. The event planner should really check out the weather forecast first. Rain spoilt the fun :(
